The Step into Life® Franchise Opportunity.
Group Training
With over 20 years in the Fitness industry, the founders of Step into Life® have learned from experience that group training is far more FUN and a lot less labor intensive than one-on-one training.
Greater Retention Rates:
The retention rates of clients is far greater due to the friendship and camaraderie they build up with fellow Step into Life® members. The unique Step into Life® Group Outdoor Personal Training systems and methods have been honed to a fine art. We know from our vast experience of training with literally thousands of people every year, what training programmes are popular, what programmes and training regimes to suggest and implement and exactly what kind of exercise and discipline will help your members achieve their goals.
Our retention rate of clients is high because group training the Step into Life® way works and Step into Life® members really love it.
It's more affordable for clients:
The way that Step into Life® structures its membership training fees and payment options fits ideally with most people’s budgets and is another factor that contributes to the extremely high sign up and retention rates (that’s aren’t enjoyed by many other training organisations).
From a business point of view, if you are comparing group training to one-on-one training, then consider these following points:-
- Finding Clients is Easier
Finding clients can be difficult and costly, especially when you are only just starting out. A client that pays less per training session is easier to find that a client that pays a lot more.
The pool of potential clients that can afford $30 per week versus $180 per week is larger. Being able to offer your services at an affordable rate will not only allow you to find clients it will help you to retain them as the lower price is sustainable and affordable.
Referral Business – If your clients are enjoying your sessions they will always refer clients. Conducting group sessions means you may have a larger client base for referrals which is the easiest way to find clients and grow your business.
- Keeping Clients is Easier
Obtaining clients is hard work and what most trainers enjoy the least about their business. Keeping clients is easier in a group environment for two reasons:
- Affordability leads to sustainability
Let’s face it, not everyone can afford $50 to $100 per hour for a one-on-one session. Offering a lower per session rate from $10-$25 in a group environment makes the cost per session affordable to clients. For the price of a one-on-one session your clients can be doing 2-4 sessions with you per week and keep training with you on an ongoing basis.
- Motivation leads to retention
Staying motivated is crucial to your clients achieving results. Group training provides the following motivators:
Competition / Camaraderie – competitive clients will benefit from training in a group environment as they have someone in the group they try to keep up with or keep ahead of. The group forms a bond.
Variety, Fun and Social Atmosphere – within a group environment you can add variety in the way of numerous games and group drills in a team environment. These games and group interaction helps provide a fun and social environment as well as stimulate team building and “getting to know you” activities. Friendships develop within the group which leads to a great team spirit and a sense of belonging.
Exercise adherence – Group training also increases adherence to their training.. The question “So, where were you on Wednesday?” from one client to another can do wonders for keeping adherence to training high
- Work Less and Earn More
Let us show you how you can maximize your earnings. Fill in the form on step 6 and set up a time to meet with us so we can show you how.
- No Shuffling of Clients
Clients get sick, take holidays get stuck at work and so on……it is unavoidable. Cancellations can lead to lost income and a lot of wasted time shuffling clients to fit into the hours you have available to train.
Even though you may have a cancellation policy the temptation is there in the one-on-one environment to “let it slip” because they are a good client and thus you lose the income for that session.
When working with groups you set a time table. If someone is sick or on holidays and can’t make the session, instead of losing all your income for that time slot you lose the income from one client.
- Group Training Can Keep YOU, the Personal Trainer FRESH!
Group training can be much less emotionally draining on a trainer. Anyone who has trained in the one-on-one environment understands that with many clients you not only become their trainer, but you can also get sucked into being their counselor as well.
In a group environment, the fun and social atmosphere tends to keep client “baggage” away from their exercise session. The group also tends to create its own energy meaning that you as the trainer have less demands on you to “give” to the group. The group dynamic does a lot of the work for you.
- Low Impact on Your Body = Longevity
If you want to stay in the Personal Training for a long time you have to be very aware of the amount of wear and tear your body takes during your client’s training sessions.
If you are on your feet for 15 – 25+ hours a week training clients, the toll on your body can be high. Especially if you have clients that want to improve their running or train for an endurance event like the City to Surf or triathlons and they want you to train alongside them.
In a one-on-one situation most clients expect you to train with them. You are the sole motivator and “training partner”. Conducting your sessions in a group environment means that you can structure sessions in a way to reduce the amount of running, cycling etc that you need to do with your clients as you cover multiple clients in one class. You can be the coach instead of a participant and multiple clients participating means you are no longer the “training partner”.
Step into Life® trainers work less hours and earn more money having a LOT more fun than other industry trainers.
