Step into Life has been a “sea change for my body “. What started out as my partner Julie saying,” let’s give it a go, it’s something we can do together”, has now become a part of our weekly lives. From my first session which was toning, it wasn’t long before we added boxing and cardio to make it 3 sessions per week. All sessions are very well planned and varied from week to week, and with the experienced trainers guiding you through each exercise, you end up with a great work out.
Who would have thought that I could run a half marathon? Well, after 12 months at Step into Life, I did and under 2hrs. I now compete regularly in triathlon events from sprints to half iron man and with a solid basis from Step into Life I am achieving my goals.
One of the key elements to the success of Step into Life is the amount of fun you can have while exercising with the new friends that you make. I think it’s fantastic the way Step into Life can cater to people of different sizes and shapes, from the young to the mature. With the full support and motivation from great trainers you look forward to every session. Jay & Ian from Runaway Bay have certainly motivated me, and I think of them more as close friends than trainers.
I have no hesitation in recommending anyone to Step into Life. If you think it’s time to do something about fitness, give it ago…………outdoors of course.
PS – Did I mention about the Saturday café breakfast after the run?…Hmmm, I’m hungry!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had always been quite a fit person but after having my baby and sitting on the couch for almost a year feeling fat and unmotivated I decided it was time to get back into shape. Tom approached me at work one day with the offer of 3 free sessions and I thought "why not give it a go I have nothing to lose" Well after my first session I was hooked. I have now been training with Tom for a year and a half and my fitness levels have increased to better than before I had my baby, my body is in great shape and I have made some great friends along the way. Not only that but Tom is a truly motivating and encouraging trainer and alway offers great advice and positive support to all his clients. Without Tom's encouragement and belief in me I would not push myself to the limits he knows I am capable of - Thanks Tom and Step into Life for changing my life for the better.

I originally joined Step into Life as a friend wanted someone to go with in July 07. Due to the great atmosphere and fun created by the trainers, other members and the great outdoors I’m still there today. Would highly recommend it to everybody as they cater to all levels of fitness and ages in all classes.

Hi everyone. I am so very glad I found Step Into Life. Well actually it wasn't me. It was a dear girlfriend who knew i was always into fitness but wasn't a current member of a gym for the first time ever. It was the "three for free" offer which i took up with much enthusiasm. Our SiL venue is new so I was keen to join at the very beginning. I did my free sessions and the rest is history. I'm so happy i joined. What a great concept. Exercise outdoors. REAL exercise outdoors. It reminds me of the exercise i did as a youngster, all outdoors. You know, in all my years as a gym patron I have never noticed small physical changes to my body as i have now. And this is only after a few months since Craig (our trainer) opened up his franchise. So I'm really, really happy.
Mine wasn't a weight loss issue. Mine was a "get fit again" target. I have two small young children and i went through a small bout of depression. SiL has made me feel confident about who I am once again. I feel confident about my inner and outer appearances. It only gets better and better. I'm now used to each session being a "blitz" session. My quads have never felt so good (well, most of the time!!), and I know my heart is thanking me many times over for starting up a proper fitness routine once again. BUT only better.
You know, I wouldn't knock a gym, but I tell you what, it would be very hard indeed to get me back into one. I am a social person by nature, so being able to greet your fellow SiL members and to have a great time at training is so refreshing. When we can we have a chuckle, and of course at the end of a session we always have a chat. You really can't beat being greeted by the familiar faces you see at the various sessions during the week. Young and old, all shapes and sizes, all levels of fitness......BUT we are all one. It's just the best!
One last thing. Probably the main ingredient which enticed me to become a member was the fact that i have someone there (i.e. Craig) to help me all the way. If I'm keen to train for the running races i used to do and love, i know i have my own trainer to guide me. Now that doesn't happen anywhere indoors! This way i can combine a routine fitness regime during the week and set goals for myself to achieve. I LOVE IT!! (oh and p.s. being a little competitive as I can be, it's great to train with others because there is a fun spirit of competition)
Thank you for being in my life SiL. I wouldn't get fit anywhere else.

I have had an on again off again affair with various gyms since I was 18 years old. I have tried every type of aerobics class and piece of exercise equipment and been a member at about six different gyms throughout my life. I love to exercise but was finding it increasingly difficult to stick to any routine since I had a child 16 months ago. And putting him into a crowded crèche was not ideal. Then I found Step into Life Mawson Lakes …..
I have attended twice a week for 6am classes since October 07 and I love it. Every class is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get! No more crowded aerobics rooms and no more staring at a TV screen while running on a treadmill. I now look at trees and lakes when I am running and there are no crowding problems in classes - we have a whole park to spread out in. Doing it outdoors provides such a healthier way to exercise and the variety is excellent for keeping up interest. I feel healthier and my fitness levels are constantly improving. Mawson Lakes SIL members are a good fun group of people to train with and Craig keeps us all motivated. And best of all I don’t need a crowded crèche my baby is still sleeping at home with dad.
