"To be able to run my own personal training business utilising the experience of others and the power of a larger group rather than going it alone privately."

Comments about Step into Life®:
Purchasing his Step into Life franchise in Swan View (WA) in September 2007, Robert Cassian runs and manages it with partner Tarnyia Harvey.
By August 2008, less than 12 months after buying the franchise, Swan View was awarded Step into Life State Franchise of the Year (WA). And in 2009, the franchise was both the State and National award winner!
Classes are a mixture of cardio, powerflex, kickboxing and toning (alternating between weights, fit balls and rubberized resistance bands). We also offer Bootcamps and extra training packages for fun run events. “We run 13 classes a week from the park.
Ages range from teenagers to seniors in their late 60s. The programs allow for people with an assortment of fitness levels to participate at the same time. Each person is encouraged to go at their own pace, but of course working out next to others can bring out a competitive edge.
The sessions are delivered at a regular venue and there is no excuse if it rains. We have a venue 1km away from our park at a primary school. It’s got an undercover area of about 20sqm,
But managing a successful Step into Life franchise is more than just being able to deliver fitness training. It is also dependent upon each trainer’s personal qualities and how they interact with clients.
Support doesn’t start and end with the training sessions. “We also give out a lot of nutritional information, if something comes our way that is really beneficial as far as supporting people in what they’re doing at home, we send out emails and Rob will talk it up at the park. Supporting people around eating better and changing habits at home, goes hand in hand if people are wanting to loose some weight or just to improve their overall health.
“We also run weight loss challenges and cleansing programs throughout the year. We just finished a weight loss challenge where the guy that won lost 11kgs and he’s lost over 20kgs since he first started with us six months ago. He was really chuffed and said he has been inspired to make a change in his life. For us that’s what it’s all about.
Boot camps are great fun “Rob takes on a whole different persona” “He really pushes them but he brings a lot of humor into it. He always takes on a nickname for the sessions which they all have to call him.
“We recently ran a winter boot camp and because he’d won the Franchise of the Year 2009, he’d call himself ‘Sergeant Major Big Head’ so the boot camp participants had to call him this! for the duration of the session. If they slip up they got pushups. We have a photo of them all doing push ups with their heads threatening to plunge into cold muddy water – oddly enough the members always come away enjoying the sessions.
If you’re interested in a new approach to health and fitness Step which people are really responding to. Step into Life could be your answer.

Comments about Step into Life®:
We have been running Step into Life Earlwood since February 2007 and we must say that it has been a rewarding experience. We didn't just jump into it without any thought, Linda was very helpful and the seminar helped a lot. Speaking with other franchise owners was what really help make our decision. Seeing how the system worked, their success and the potential of our area we knew we could make a go of it.
Now after 9 months of operations we have grown to over 80 members and loving every minute of it. We have met so many wonderful people from our area and surrounding areas through running Step into Life. Making a difference to them with their bodies and fitness has been one of the most rewarding aspects of this experience. You will know what we mean when you turn up to your sessions and a member just brags about dropping dress sizes and having to change their wardrobe after only 2 months of their membership... It really gives you a great feeling.
Then there is the power to manage your own time which is a real bonus.
The Step into Life system works, you just need to make a good go of it and put in the hard yards early! Once you do that you can build a reputation so that everyone in your area will know who you are!

Comments about Step into Life®:
I was really looking for a direction to take in the fitness industry. There are so many options, some profitable, some fun, some neither, but very few are both. I’d already come to the conclusion that group training was a great concept financially as well as being a lot of fun but it was difficult to get going on my own.
With Step into Life, I bought into a business that gave me reliable methods and support for everything from getting the phone to ring, through to keeping that client for years to come and pretty much everything in between. The training is comprehensive, the support is fantastic and ongoing and the results speak for themselves.
I now have the option of driving my business at whatever rate I want it to grow. Need a pay rise? Go and get some more clients .. it’s that simple. The tools and methods of promoting and generating business really are that predictable.
Is it hard work to start up? You bet it is … but it’s a whole lot easier than trying to do the same thing by yourself. You get all the benefits of being your own boss, but without having to think so much. Speaking as someone who’s done his time in the corporate world, this lifestyle is fantastic .. I wear sneakers to work and play in the park for a living.
If you have the drive to run your own business, love training people but just aren’t sure how to make good money out of it, then I would say you’re looking in the right place for your answer. As a business goes, it’s very low risk, low overhead and the returns are whatever you want to make them, because I can tell you without any doubt, this thing works.
